Was the depression caused by tx?

I don't know why it came back. I took Cymbalta through tx but tx ended two Decembers ago. Could be Hep C related? I'm still positive.

No need to suffer under a cloak of darkness. Depression is an illness, there are specialists who treat it, and medications to relieve the symptoms.

So glad you are on top of it Wes. Apparently there is quire a strong correlation between depression and HCV.

Not to point any fingers at anyone but, a higher correlation also exists if people have played around with certain recreational substances that have ended up with a dependence at some point according to the evidence.

I can certainly relate Wes, and I defiantly feel your pain.
Depression is a REAL illness! A DISEASE. It can be genetic as well.
Not always brought on by tx, or HCV, as I have been depressed all my life, just did not know it, as I covered it up ( masked it per say ) with drugs or alcohol. I too, as I type, am depressed. It is the most dark feeling in the world!

I can also say Bill, you might have a point with the recreational use of drugs. But I think the use of the drugs is to mask the depression.
Just want to point out, that I truely believe, being bipolar and tx on top of it, has made the depression worse!

Lots of things can cause depression. Have you had your vit. D levels checked? Mine were so low, the doc was amazed I am walking around. She said I will feel more perky when my levels are improved.
Try to exercize, get a little fresh air and sunshine daily...and remember we love you!

Thanks buddies for your comments. I was depressed way before my drug use, I never felt good until I started smoking pot, etc, at age 18. The worst I got was anxiety attacks and I've been in the nut house twice. The second time they finally got my cocktail right and I felt normal for the first time in a long time. I had to fight insanity for decades before these modern drugs came out. I'm already feeling better as I am very sensitive to drugs. It is so wonderful to feel normal and I know I'll improve in the coming weeks. Hangin' in, y'all too I hope.

Wes, I agree. The torment of depression makes living a burden. Thank God there are some good medications out for us.
My dr wouldn't give me welbutrin for smoking cessation because of the effect on the liver.

be very careful of wellbutin if you have bi-polar

That's OK, I'm Unipolar. Ptriss, My liver is 100% functional so I guess Wellbutrin is OK for now.

If you like him keep seeing him. A good mind or body Doctor is hard to find these days. Just having a viriouse like this is reason enough to be depressed so let him an anybody else help you when you are feeling that way. We are all here for everyone esle not just ourselfs.

Well, BillR, maybe the real reason they wouldn't give me welbutrin is the bi polar!
