weight gain during treatment

i was only on triple treatment for 6 weeks, but managed to add 18 pounds in that time! ouch I really couldn't understand it either, i was not eating that many more calories, i took into account my 3x daily fat amount.
well 3 weeks after quitting all the weight is gone! and with some appetite back, i have been eating quite a bit more, i think this weight gain has a lot to do with water shift at the cell level when we are on the 3 drugs. and after the drugs are stopped, you will get back to normal.
so do not despair my weight watcher hep c friends! I am smiling for the first time since leaving treatment

It's weird. I don't think anyone really knows the full impact these drugs can have on different people.

I've only been on tx a week, take my second shot tmw nite; I've already lost 10 lbs. It will be nice to lose the weight but the method sucks. Let's just say Fleet won't be making any money off of me this year. LOL

Tx can cause hypothyroidism which can cause weight gain, as well.

I've only lost a few lbs and i'm on wk 10. How is your thyroid? Hang in there. I think everyone's body is so different with this tx. sending you hugs. ^..^ ~~

I'm on week 12 and have gained a few pounds. Went from walking 3 miles per day; lifting free weights 3X per week; super healthy diet (except for too many beers) to no exercise at all; laying around and a high fat diet (oh and no alcohol at all.) But I hope to start back on something of a routine after stopping the Incivek (sans the beers :-)

pre tx, lost 13 lbs in 6 weeks, gained 11 lbs in tx in 29 days.....i'm not worried in the least.

for the FIRST time in my entire adult life, my liver enzymes are NORMAL....really normal....my cholesterol is very high naturally so this is an absolute miracle. I am 49.

AST pre tx 35 now 14
ALT pre tx 77 now 25.......
await VL, hope to have next week. don't fret the fat and the weight. vanity will come after we win the war.....keep up the good work, ya'll....

Yes have your thyroid checked I maintained 205 lbs almost all through 48 weeks of peg/rib then right towards the end I started to gain, found out my thyroid had taken a dumper. I'm on meds for it now and hoping it comes back. If it dosen't I am still glad that I had the TX as I got my SVR and one pill a day is a small price to pay. I will loose the weight.

do the dr's not order thyroid testing regularly while on tx? mine does.....hmmm....that's a great pt cloud...

had thyroid checked prior to treatment and at 6 weeks (when i quit treatment) both normal. just think these drugs can do things that are not fully known....

Gained 10 lbs from 3 months on incivek (and that with exercise) and 1 month on just peg/riba..ive lost 10 lbs...going for 15...appetite was poor by week 12 of incivek...but is healthy now...workout are excellent...3 miles a day and wieghts every other day

Lost 15lbs since I started, now at week 16 eating has been good working out 3 days a week but not heavy workouts,Still get winded!

I did SOC tx and gained weight.... dont know what causes it, cause nothing tasted good........

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
