Welcome ! I personally do not know anything about Viekera but I hope you can get some feedback, I know before when I was on triple tx with incieviex I had alot of support here. Wishing you luck with your tx and hope you find your way to SVR I have been on Harvoni 19 days now. Praying this is the one for me . Good Luck and keep posting

ClearCoolwater - I failed a previous tx with Incivek. I had constant nausea, and finally gave up after not being able to keep the pills down for 3 days. I am hoping the Viekera Pak is easier (even though nausea is listed as one of the sides). Yuk!

Welcome to our group, from one Texan to another! I took Sovaldi and Olysio back in the Spring, and am undetected of Hep C now. I had not heard of Viekera pak until you posted, so learning something new. Please stay in touch and let us know how you are doing. Marilyn

Meds came by UPS today (Viekira Pak). Aetna uses Express Scripts as it's pharmacy, and they made a deal with Abbvie to use the Viekira Pak exclusively. That is why I was prescribed this instead of Harvoni. One month supply $26,600 with a $60 copay.

Will start tomorrow - 3 pills in the morning and one pill in the evening. Have to take them with food. In the trials, Geno 1b patients were 100% cleared. Glad I don't have 1A, they have to take the Riba also. Will let you know how it goes!

I did six months with inceivex triple tx and truly thought at times I was going to die. I was so low on all my blood work I felt like the walking dead. I cleared but relapsed. So glad you do not have to take the Riba that stuff is horrible as well. Sounds like this is new like the Harvoni and these new drugs seem to have great sucess rates (as you noted ) which is totally awesome! Hope you have an easy ride this time and good luck and keep us posted.

On second day with Viekira Pak (no Riba), and I have had no side effects so far. On the second day of my last tx, I was throwing up! Sure hope it stays this way.

Abbvie (maker of Viekira Pak) has been very nice. They assigned me a nurse that calls and checks on me, and is available to answer any questions. Also issue copay assistance to anyone who asks. I have to take 4 pills a day, but they come in an easy to dispense box that is easy to keep up with. Will check back in next week for more side effect info for future users.

my father's on Viekira too.
He's 72 yo, geno 1b with cirrhosis and he failed all the previous therapies with Interferon and Riba but he didn't try neither Telaprevir nor Boceprevir.
He is on 12 week of Viekira plus weight-based RBV (1000 mg [

he is on his 5 week of treatment and hes still waiting for his 4 week blood exams. Till now he didn't have any sides from the drugs and could barely say he is on therapy just because he had to swallow a lot of pills.. At first he was scared from Riba because in the past he had to discontinue one of his treatments for the horrible rash and itching the Riba gave him but maybe it was the interaction with interferon, in fact today he has no sides at all
