The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.

Treatment is hard! Anyone who has been on Interferon knows that.

But harder than what? I was thinking about that today. My worst subject in school was diagraming sentences. I HATED it. I knew instinctively it was stupid and I'd never have to do it when I grew up. So I didn't try.

But treatment is much harder than diagraming sentences!

I still have nightmares of not getting to class on time in high school because I couldn't remember where to go. Treatments have got to be harder than that!

And on a serious note, I haven't started treatments yet, but if it's harder than the liver cancer I had, the chemo, the transplant, the drugs after transplant, some of which I'm still on, then I'd rather get hit by a train first.
And I know treatments aren't worse than losing an 8-year-old son 32 years ago in a drowning accident. I went through the worst then, so whatever is left is gravy.

Marilyn it won't be worse than those two crucibles that you've endured. Those are epic. I'm so very sorry to read about your son.

Treatment is hard though yes Bob. It changes everything about you when you're on it. Me and my life were unrecognizable to me as I've posted before. I don't know what is right below it in terms of less hard. It's still something awful though I know that. But it does end.

Marilyn, I can't imagine anything worse than loosing a child (well, loosing 2 or more i guess would be worse). My brother lost his son and watching him survive and thrive and dedicate his life to honoring the lost life of his son has been one of the greatest inspriations in my life.

Tx is no where near as awful as that, and I believe it will be easier on you than what you have gone through..... One day at a time. I found the waiting before tx to be very difficult emotionally.... Once you are into it, no matter how bad, you can usually say-- I can do this one more day.....

Football practice. I remember those HOT August days, puking my guts out. Being so sore I couldn't tie my shoes. Having a bruised thigh that caused me to use crutches for three days. But practice only lasted for a few hours a day. The season was only for 3 months.

Treatment last all day. And for much longer.

Treatment is harder than football practice. Plus, football has cheerleaders. :-)

I'm sorry guys... I am not on TX, my husband is (I wish I could take it away from him and deal with it).... But I can't imagine losing a child MLT.... I can't imagine not being able to have one.... And I am scared to death of that... so I guess the hardest thing is just the unknown and not being able to provide answers ... but we gotta keep going. Chin up. Thankful for what you have. And I am thankful for my husband, as he is in my life right now.

Less serious note - nightmare of a snake chasing me and i run on top of the dryer.... and he won't let me off... REOCURRING SOB NIGHTMARE SINCE I WAS A KID!! scary as sh*t
