Hi, just wanted to thank you all for your interesting and helpful posts. I've had HepC for 42 years now--haven't had any complications, however, I just don't want it, you know! And, they're not sure how lack of estrogen plays a part in its progress so we shall see. I am positive and hopeful. Hopeful that a decent drug will be developed in the near future. Thanks to your site, I have been eating grapefruit, cutting much fat and processed foods from my diet, and exercising. Having HepC has made me healthier than I've ever been. I know and appreciate that I am one of the lucky ones.

So Happy Thanksgiving -- I believe the future is bright for HCV drugs and FOR YOU!!

Then you read a story about 10 years and cirrhosis ..i just dont get it..

Hi Cab. I'm one of the lucky ones too. I had Hep C for 53 years before I did treatment...and it was successful. I, too, was afraid of what the lack of estrogen and age might do to progress it so I did treatment starting in Sept 08 and finished Aug 09.

Sounds like you are doing great with your healthy living and the newer, better meds are coming...if you need them.
