Hi Mckenzie, thanx for the link. I e-mailed the authors, and would like to ask anyone here, if they know of any treatment survivors who are virus free (not just undetectable) after 3 years. I know many who are not but they fell into the 50% chance group. I'm in the 76-80% chance group. Am I just buying myself a few more years of abstained liver damage by taking the peg/riba trtmnt program? I haven't started treatment yet and am a little afraid and probably masking my fear by appearing to be just skeptical

A1NAPADUDE - Pre-decision can be turmoil. Always a reason to mull over, always another perspective to consider. I don't know much about being completely free of the virus 100%. I question that there is an absolute practice that can garuntee such a result. I shifted, ducked and faded to avoid facing the recommended combo therapy. I even tipped a pint or two during what I faked to be my " enlightened periods". Finally, relating with others (KaryMelly in & Capnhardass in particular), I finally decided to stop skylarking and take the fight to the foe, and I have'nt regretted that decision once! We need to put copies of this in all of our dr's offices !!!!! a1nap, i don't believe the word cure and HCV can be used in the same sentence. They can only test to an undetectable level. There are many who have been virus free for years!
I believe there was a post somewhere by Makiah a few months ago, stating hcv still shows up in an autopsy?
I'm going forward and not looking back on this journey. If nothing else, it was a wake up call and an enlightening to a healthier life style which, in itself, is a gift.
Either u take the leap of faith, or u don't. Once u jump, u can't look back. even tho, dna is the deciding factor, i believe in the power of positive thinking .....
