Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
I saw my doctor today and the shots will start next week. He said that a lot of people are pretty sick the first 2 weeks, like a bad bout of the flu. I have read a lot on this site and haven't gotten that feeling that this is common. I get the idea that most of you have the 48 hours of feeling lousy after each shot.I will have my thyroid checked periodically since the shots can kill the thyroid, is this something I have missed? I am very nervous, but at this point - let's get this started and get it over with. 24 weeks will hopefully go fast!!

I think the doc may be right...it seems the first two weeks are usually the worst for the flu like symptoms...
There are many other side effects that come weeks or months down the road however.
Every day can be different...it is weird and hard to explain. this medicine works so differently with everyone and causes different side to come at different times.
I am in week 9 now and am feeling quite well! The odd headache and a little more frequent bathroom trips with number 2 (LOL)
