Good luck to you, remember everyone is different, I felt amazing until now, im on week 18 of 48, week 17 is when I began to get sick, I wish I only had 24 weeks, that would have been a piece of cake!!!!! You will do fine, just be positive and stay busy!!

Hey Rynnette, I am so glad you are going to start tx-it means you are closer to the end. I would say you have deduced correctly. Everyone is different as they all say, and everyone reacts differently. I did not really have much in sides except muscle ache for the first 3 weeks. I even thought-they maybe gave me a placebo cuz I really felt good. I usually plan the day after my shot to do nothing. Then I get rest, and my body and the meds can do their thing. I have had a week or two, that were not really good, but mostly due to fevers. I have not been sick except one night when I ate a huge candy bar-did not set well with me. I always tell people to walk circumpectly on this site, as some people do suffer, but there are a good portion of us that are doing well. I know you are off for summer now right? You take care, and keep me posted on when you start and how you are doing.

You're doing the right thing by tx. You're going to have good days and bad but you'll see that the outcome will outweigh the sides. I am closing in on my 7th shot of 48 Sunday evening and I always start to feel great around Wednesday. I know this is the right course, especially when I hear my doctor tell me I'm responding. congrats on being able to start tx and only having to do 24 wks, that fact by itself has kept me going during my husb's tx. everyone's sides are different, take it day by day and hopefully you will be one who doesn't exp a lot of sides. a positive attitude does help but it doesn't mean you won't exp sides. my husb's sides have been pretty bad, he's not been able to work or participate much in life. many days it's been difficult to have hope, but ALWAYS the fact that doing the 24 wks of this tx (sides and all- putting life on hold, etc) and being undetectable IS and has been WORTH IT. most things in life that are worthwhile take some kind of sacrifice and this is no different. 24 wks of tx for the hope of health afterwords has been totally worth it. my husb will take his 24th shot tonight. it is doable, it is worth it, but i won't lie, it has been very difficult. this site has been a God send and i know you will find much comfort, love and info here.

As others have said, it really is different for everyone and, for me, the way I feel or any sides I have kind of come and go. I was pretty scared b4 the first shot and luckily that has been the only shot so far where I've even had sides. The time does go by fast once you get started. I'm on shot #11 tonight and the Friday's just keep coming quicker and quicker. Take care....

honey do NOT overthink treatment. I had NO problem with my thyroid and I only lost 2lbs. I did 24 weeks with little sides. You go into treatment with an 85% of clearing being a genotype 2 or 3..keep you thoughts positive! good luck..here2help

Congrats on making a decision and sticking to it! I found anticipating starting treatment alot more scarey than actually being on treatment. I will be taking shot 31 tonight. 24 weeks goes by alot faster than you think it will. The key to feeling better is drinking lots of water, listening to your body when it needs a rest, eating healthy and learning to pace yourself. Break up tasks into smalls sections, and rest between. At the begining I always pushed too far, but you learn how much you can do eventually without wiping yourself out, and you lean to adapt. Always remember, it's not forever. Just deal with what you feel the current day, and try not to think about the days ahead...it can get overwhelming if think about days ahead on treatment. Each shot, and even each day can differ, so if you feel lousy one day, you might feel better the next!

Don't forget, keep cool, heat is not well tolerated on treatment, and stay out of the sun. Your skin will burn, not tan in the sun. Keep pleanty of lotions on hand, get extra moisturizing conditioner. Keep some benadryl and tylenol on had (it will help you sleep through the nerves of the first shot). Protien shakes help keep up the energy and the blood levels. And most importantly, try to relax! You can do this, just one day at a time, like Mckenzie says! Good luck and I know you will get through this!

you have the right attiude so you should be fine . Im just learing I would feel better if I took my advill when I felt bad but Im not used to taking pills and I think I have to be in pain before I take anything . good luck

I hear everyone is different so go in with a clear mind, I am a bit nervous about my tx but won't get it until september, but some of the stories I hear make me nervous.

I applaud you for doing this. This shows that you are strong and will make it through. I am a coward, I cannot bring myself to start tx yet, I'm so afraid. I know your afraid too, but you will be fine, I"m sure.
