Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
I am a failed G-3 (having done 7 months of SOC) and now I have been scripted for 4 months of SOC and Sovaldi! But the chance of svr is much higher than the original 85% chance on SOC alone. This is On label tx and I am only waiting for final approvals from my insurance co, but they had already said they would cover Sovaldi so I will probably start this in a week or two.
I cannot imagine doing these awful and brutal drugs again, but I have to beat this dragon as it is beating me and I was told by my doc that I could not wait any longer, so......I guess I would rather do this then get cancer, so wish me luck!

Sovaldi will work - too bad you have to take it with Interferon and Riba (right?), but 4 months is better than the old tx.
