I think a few people had issues with their throat but that was awhile back and they were on SOC. I know that I had a similar issue for about 1 week but it was just part of the flu.
I'm not clear on the part where you said "it has been two years and still no answer." If you mean that you have not been told the results then maybe you better try to contact them.

I've had throat & ear issues this past year while on treatment. the first time my dr gave me an antibiotic thinking it also may have involved a tooth. The second time she decided it was a virus, & would go away on its own - which it eventually did. I also sometimes get an uncomfortable pressure in my throat. I have barretts esophagus which I take meds for, and I have hypothyroidism which I also take meds for. I haven't seen the gastro in about 1 1/2 yrs. she's the one who did the endoscopies & determined I have the barrets esoph.
My current dr is in infectious diseases, who is treating me for the hep c. I don't have alot of confidence in her.
After tx (in 11 days) I am going to call the old gastro & discuss the throat issues.
You should insist on getting an understanding of your condition. If they can't answer your questions, ask them to refer you to a specialist that CAN determine & solve the problem.
Let me know how you make out. (people on here have mentioned varices, which sound scary to me, and I sometimes wonder if that will be my next problem...)

I have a sore throat all the time, but I'm told it's the Ribavirin. Are you on treatment, or have you been?

I have never done treatment. They will not let me.
So, I have no idea what this is.
and all they told me is is was not lymphoma.
Never really any other answer?

They won't let you do treatment?

If HCV has weakened your immune system you are more susceptible to infection. I have been trying to remember to take pro-biotics to build up my immunity.
You might try going to an ear, nose and throat doctor to see if they can help you.

I had some issues with sore throat and ears durring tx but not before tx! Who said you can't take treatment ? It sounds like something differen't I would go to ear nose throat and find out what you got! Please take care of it !

I have had Dr tell me for many years I can't do treatment and I have accepted that. I am no where near a candidate for the drug. I have lost so much weight it is crazy, but I have had this virus now for 32 years.
I am 4"11 and weight 80 pds if I am lucky! Two years ago I weighed 108. 2 years before that 115.
I have barely any white cells and my platelets are very, very low and my VL is 700 million last I had it done.
I am just a mess.
but I just pray and tell myself it is what it is and try hard to continue on.

I had throat problems and it was from the treatment. Turned out to be my thyroid, I stopped treatment and it eventually decreased in size.

meeesh sorry for your woes and health challenges. I still don't know why you were told you can't do treatment, especially now that there are so many different treatment options.Have you never received a diagnosis for anything?
We are a diverse group here and perhaps if you share some specifics, someone can point you in a direction that might help, they may be in similar situation.

Sweety it sunds like you need to get another doctors opion. It obvious that the first one didnt find the problem. You know you have to indentify the problem before you cn fix it :-) LOts of Hugs my Friend :-)

I have to agree with dreamkite! If I would have listened to my first dr iwould have had a new liver and he gave me 5years outside 10 to live! how much fun was that? Went to a specialist in Baltimore and low and behold I am now SVR. Get another opinion ASAP!
