Sometimes it is a very hard fight.
Be strong and do not give up.
You can do this.
Best wishes to you
help is why we all are here.....
what treatment are you doing??
Tell your Dr about your issues, maybe take this post you wrote, and ask for help there, too.....
There are anti depressants and anti anxiety meds that make treatment so much more tolerable...........they really work...
i take them and early in tx, had a few small bouts of depression back in November...i was 3/12 weeks into tx, plus i became anemic.....
I will be thinking of you tomorrow, and look forward to hear how you are doing.....
best, jibi
I spoke to my nurse a little while ago and she wants me on anti-depressants right away. I am trying to get hold of my dr. to arrange this. People keep asking me what I am on and that even confusses me. I really think these dr.s are trying to confuse me. lol From what I can tell it is peginterferon alfa 2a and ribavirin. Next week I start another one but I don't know the name of that one yet. They did tell me and I didn't think to write it down. All I know is that one can cause anemia and rashes. Not looking forward to more drugs.
I take very gentle meds.....easy on the liver, too....
lamictal 200 mg 1x day
and wellbutrin xl... 1x day this one also helps with the brain fog
and works awesome!!!!!
Best wishes.....
I hope you can manage to hang in there a bit longer because that next drug will up your chances of clearing it, it would be really good if you can clear it this time and not ever have to do treatment again!! imagine that not having Hep C and never having to think about doing treatment again. I hope you can get to see the doctor soon.
I'm on the Pegy 2alpha and Riba at the mo as well about 4 weeks in I'm not having as much sx as you though but am really run down today big Ol nasty coldsore, tired and yellow as a sunflower! and the nausea not great, we wont mention the toilet problems :-) Thankfully not depressed but have been a bit nasty to hubby, poor hubby....
Drink lots of water!
The little bastard virus's may be winning this battle, and maybe the next. But you're likely to win the war if you keep up the meds
Go see the doctor and get better tools, ammunition and drugs, to fight the battle. Put on your helmet, kevlar vest, and declare war.
I just finished 40 weeks, UND, and hated every moment of it. But wowwie, seeing the lab results with no viral load is pretty darn enjoyable
Sending out positive vibes for ya sweetie! Again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..............YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I haven't started my triple treatment yet. I start on April 27th, and am very grateful that I have found this place and these wonderful people who are or did go through it before me.
The one thing that I have in place right now, that gives me peace of mind before I even start is that I have a wonderful personal physician. He has promised that he will take care of me throughout all the trials and tribulations of this treatment. I can easily get ahold of him when I need anything and I think that my Hep C doctor would be harder to reach. So I have that in place. I will of course let the Hep C doc know what I'm going through, but my PCP will be handleing my additional meds as needed. He will probably give my husband some too! =) God knows he will need it I'm sure.
From what I have gathered, these symptoms get better the futher along you go, at least for the majority of people. Hang in there and take it day by day. I agree that you need some anti anxiety, or anti depressants ASAP though. My PCP told me once about a big burley Marine who was doing the Hep C treatment and got really depressed. He said that he wished that he wouldn't have waited so long to tell him because it would have been easier on him to get straightened out and sooner. He said, don't try and be tough. If you need something, just let me know, not a problem. So I will do that and I think that it would be wise for you to as well.
I wish you the best and most of all send you encouragement to continue on, but with a little help from your friends, real ones or chemical ones.
take care
