Kramer, my doctor hasn't mentioned the sofos/semi/riba combo, but I will see him on the 22nd and will ask him about that.

Marilyn I have done 2 TX's with interferon, 1st TX was 48 wks & #2 was for 24 wks, so a total of 72 wks exposure to interferon. I am not a particularly strong person, that's not what got me thru it, no I had some bad days, but think I got off rather light duty. Looking back I think it was not that bad for me, and that had nothing at all to do, with any type of personal strength on my part, to endure and overcome. No,I was just lucky. Some on the things I have read others have had to endure, I don't know if I could have done it...I am a wimp .But interferon reactions are all over the board, sorta like the Forest Gump box of chocolates, with Interferon you never know what you are going to get...but the chocolate all tastes nasty lol. For me, the Ribavarin was the harder drug, with Incivek a close second. Interferon could be like hanging out with a pissed off Chihuahua, or it could be a knock down drag out fight to the bitter end with a rabid Grizzly. Hoping you get the Chihuahua if you decide to treat.

You have great doctor. He has a great team. He'll know which tx is the right one for you. I am stoked that you are finally talking about the option for tx.! I'm glad I did it. I'm glad it's over. 12 weeks, Marilyn. Turn the page. Start a new chapter.

I'm thinking too, and this is just my gut feeling, that the TT community just does not respond to Interferon. The TT status does not "seem" to be so much a factor for the other drugs in the mix.
I base my "gut feeling" on reviewing clinical trial results where all seem to do well except lower success results for non responders.
Triple therapy with IFN seemed to help relapsers but not non/null responders (TT?).
This seems apparent in Sofosbuvir trials that include IFN as well.
Marilyn,, we all have to make our own decisions on the treatment mix. We can be taken under advice but the bottom line is nobody will make any guarantees on treatment outcomes, either success or collateral damage from the drugs. Perhaps your hesitation is your inner voice telling you to wait. It has to be your decision, it's a gamble, you may win or or not. I wish you strength throughout the process.

I did 32 weeks of interferon and it became really bad for me although not until wk 17. Twelve would've been easy for me but we are/were in totally different situations. Hard to know how you'll do. Yes weighing out pros and cons on paper will help. You know you will have much support here.
