Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.

Well folks, I am scared. I can barely read the computer any more, everything is so blurry.

I've read on the Pegasys site that it can lead to serious eye problems, or even blindness.

I'm seeing an eye doctor on Tues. What should I tell him to look for?

Thanks for all the kind words. I just got back from the eye doctor. The good news is that he didn't find anything seriously wrong.

I'm still getting very blurry vision, but at least i have some peace of mind.

Glad to hear the news Oso, that nothing is seriously wrong. My eye problems lessened towards the end.

I had to see an ophthalmologist and cardiologist before I my GI cleared me for triple tx (which I ultimately, never did). Eye problems are a common sx of IFN.

According to the FDA and PEGASYS' insert, it can cause eye problems that can lead to vision loss or blindness.

@sandy, that's interesting. My vision has gotten really bad since my trial. Were there others at your trial w/vision issues. Trying to get to the bottom of this.

Kat, the trial coordinator told me that Riba does not cause eye problems, but I never had pain like this before treatment. The GI doctor looked in my eyes and said everything looked good to him, but he suggested I see an eye doctor. I've had eye pain before, but I think it was mostly due to sinus pressure...this is different.

Mr. Oso, glad they didn't find anything wrong, and I hope your vision returns to normal!
