I have regular appointments with ophthalmology because my doctor is afraid of retinal damage. I guess I would ask him to look for any retina damage or abnormalities? Also, my ophthalmologist said that if my vision gets blurry to come as soon as possible. Is Tuesday the earliest appointment? Do they do any emergency walk in?

i did 40 weeks of Vic and I had to change my eyeglass prescription 3 times. and another time during the 6 month waiting period

any opthomologist who does a competent exam will be checking all the right things in a regular exam

shadow that is funny you mention that. I have not needed to wear my glasses this week. I felt like death, but could see perfectly. I thought it was just me.

my eyes are shot toop....but after 3 tx's and all the chemical abuse,,,i'm cured......but not w/out a price!!!!!!!!!

Back and forth with blurry eyes during tx. At times I'd be at work at my computer and would have to sit back then scoot in glasses off then on. It drove me crazy a couple of times when I couldn't work because of it. I'd log into DS for sure then. I could see my phone at least. Kept changing. Better now for sure. I'll wait a while though before getting a new pair of glasses for the computer. I don't always need to wear them though and usually don't.

Someone kept telling me here to keep my blurry eyes on the prize. Lol

In about week 5 I noticed a change. All I ever used were readers. I had a full exam, everything for the most part checked out but now I have prescription glasses for reading. I'm not sure what they call it but they kind of are a bifocal for reading close and the computer a little further away. I'm back to being able to use the readers.

My eyes became blurry on tx, to. I had to use readers and still use them today.

Ask him for some samples of eye drops. They have the best.
Does he know you are on tx? If so, he should know what type of exam to preform.

I had blurriness, floaters like crazy, & several times occular migraines. Occ migraines are bright flashes that you get in one or both eyes that are shaped liked sideways poiny parenthesis. The first time it happened I thought this was the beginning of a stroke or something. They last btwn 2- 7 or 8 minutes.
I also had a spot in the center of my visual field in left eye that was blank. Just totally screwed up vision in general. I went to a specialist who didn't see anything 'abnormal'.

DON'T RUB YOUR EYES TOO HARD. First time I did tx I rubbed my right eye from itchiness. Later that day I was in the grocery store & thought there were tons of gnats flying near my head. I must have looked like a crazy person because I kept swatting at them. It was serious floaters. As the day progressed vision in that eye was getting dimmer & dimmer, until it looked like I was looking through a darkened screen. Went to eye dr immediately after reading online about torn retinas. Turns out I was bleeding behind my eyeball which was causing the vision loss. You can't see the blood in the front of the eyeball. It was so bad he couldn't tell if the retina was torn or not. The end result was weekly check ups as the blood finally dissapated. Thank God nothing was torn.

Mr. O, I hope it's nothing to serious. I'm having eye issues also.

Interferon and Ribavirin can cause not only chronically dry eyes which could be affecting yoru vision but in some cases (not many) retinal and macular problems.
My Optometrist did a retinal scan and found pigmental changes in my macular region.
During treatment I lost vision in the lower half of my right eye, it was just a big dark area. It has since come back but my eyes are still very dry.
A common problem for folks on Interferon based treatment...sorry

My eyes get so dry at night the eyeball sticks to the lid & I have to use my finger to move the lid. Then I can blink a couple times & put a drop of artifical tears in. This is still going on (2wks post tx) but not quite as bad.

My eyes would get blurry and change all the time on treatment. After treatment my eyes calm down and might be a little better. No way are they worse before are during treatment.

I wasn't on interferon, only Riba, but I definitely have decreased vision and although off tx for 10 days, still have pain in my left eye. Going to opthamologist this month to check it out. I've been having to wear prescription sunglasses to watch tv b/c the light hurts my eyes.
