Hi there family.......Can anyone share on this:

I've been on Pegysus/ Ribivirin/Procrit
I had to change Insurance. They do not pay for Pegysus,I've been asked to try Pegintron. I'm at fourth month, and Non-detected.
What are your thoughts on this change???

They are different drug regimes with different dosing. What does your Dr. say about it?

Nothing at this time. Problem is I've not had meds since last injection on May 21st. Waiting on a pre-authorization.

Are you on 24 or 48 week treatment?
your Dr. knows that you are missing treatment because of insurance company?

Mos, Outrageous is what I just became on the phone. I'm ready to go see the state rep. Yes, doc knows. Thet have submitted forms, waiting on reply. They state that they like people to try pegintron first. How about that? I'll see what developes by tomorrow I guess.
For now, I'm feeling kinda shity........

my Insurance company gave me the run around the first couple of months because my Dr. wanted me on higher doses of Riba than normal and they wouldn't cover it.
My Pharmacist made quite a few phone calls to them to convince them to do it.
I know my Dr. practice and his nurse have a backup emergency supply in these types of events. I hope you get your meds real soon!

Serene, I'm changing ins co's as of July 1st, and asked my current GI dr if there will be a lack of medication in the process.. She promised me that if there were, she would call her rep and get my meds asap right from the rep...... You may want to call the DR office and ask about obtaining meds from their rep... i'm sure you don't want to repeat the entire process again.. Just a thought! I would be livid~~

PRAYERS WITH YOU KIDDO. I TELL YOU I WENT THROUGH INSURANCE NIGHTMARES OF MY OWN. HOWEVER, WHEN THE INSURANCE CO. I WAS A MEMEBER OF CHANGED, MY MEDICAL TREATMENT REMAINED WITHOUT CHANGE OF ANY KIND. ANYTHING ELSE IS CRIMINAL. RIGHT!

This is just ridiculous! I hope you have got it worked out by now Serene. Insurance companies=devil in disguise. I HATE them!
