I'm 3 weeks in to a 3 month regiment of ribavirin and the new sovosbuvir. I can't sleep. My insides are all wound up, I can't relax enough to sleep. Any help would be appreciated. I've tried benedryl and sleep aids, not much luck. HCV non-detectable at 2 weeks. I'm hopeful for a sustained response. Thanks!!

Congrats on your non detec kathy! Ribavirin can be fraught with unpleasant side effects. Have you discussed this with your Dr? I was given a Rx sedative while on treatment.

They put me on trazadone because I was having trouble sleeping & was very emotional.

I was also prescribed clonazapam while on riba -- AND, if you are taking more than 800mg/day you can discuss a dose reduction with your physician. 800 mgs is sufficient with sofos to maintain svr.

This sovaldi and ribb tx is totally different than previous tx. I feel like I'm on some kind of energy pill. Like I'm high on somthing. I go run a few miles the fresh air really helps me sleep. Usually get 5-6 hrs. Peace.

So glad to have found you all during this journey. I'll call the dr. on Monday to see about reducing ribavirin or getting something to rest.

its psycho samatic..yes in ure mind....i did all oral abbott w/riba no sides...now w/2 prev. Inter. Txs yes sleep probs.....get ure dr to prescribe 1 mg xanax at night that should help...it did me during inter. Txs...orals shouldnt have that problem....my 2 cents...take care god bless

I haven't taken Solvadi but have done tx 2x with Riba. Ambien gave me hallucinations. Low dose Xanax worked for me though.

Hi Kathy, glad to hear that your tx is working for you. My first tx had Rib./ inf. and the N.P. gave me Ambien and Xanax. I also started to get a skin condition of dry scaly rashes. We ended up lowering my dose of Rib down from 1200 to 800 then 400 and finally for the last week she said no more Rib.
I relapsed two weeks after end of tx.
So if this tx works for you and I decide to try it, I'm just going to suffer through the Sides and not mess with the dose.
Your choice though.
