Hepatitis C Support Group
Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
I haven't been on here much since I had to stop treatment over a month ago. I actually am feeling just so much better that I don't feel like sitting in front of the computer nearly as often.
When I was in the hospital in early May they put me on a medication called Risperdal or Risperidone. I was having awful nightmares in the hospital that was probably related to stopping treatment along with all the junk they were pumping in me and the med did help.
When I got home I continued to take it for awhile, but found that it was really increasing my appetite to the point at which I was wanting to eat when I was already very full. Plus I started craving soda, especially Coke, which I very rarely drink.
I went off it and the over eating stopped thank goodness.
I read online today that it was recalled due to some type of odor problem that was causing some patients to have stomach problems. It also mentioned causing weight gain which I sure can understand assuming someone can keep down all the food it makes you want to eat.
Hope this helps someone. The appetite increase would have been a good thing for someone loosing massive amounts of weight while on treatment.

Yes the seriquil made me eat more. But it helped me in more than it hurt it. Sometimes you have to weigh the differences unfortually.

My doc put me on steroids for an allergic (?) rash I got and I've been eating eveything in sight...ugh!! But I also have lots of energy. Two weeks ago I could barely flip a burger and last weekend I flipped my mattress. Ha!!!!!! Thenaks for the info on Risperidal.
