Undie. Nothing to worry about. I'd just take it easy if getting winded is an issue & definitely discuss that with your doc.

I've done triple & IFN/riba tx with no success so I do know it's important to discuss any sides with your doc. Still, being UND has got to be an awesome feeling & worth any side effects as long as they are manageable. Wishing you the best Kathy & SVR as well.

My experience with Riba was the same, very short of breath. I felt like I just couldn't get enough oxygen to my muscles

Kathy, I did treatment with riba and interferon and, yes, I had a very rapid heart rate most of the time while on treatment. It was explained to me that riba can cause anemia (which I did have on treatment) and the anemia results in a rapid heart rate.

Sometimes when I was trying to sleep I could feel and hear my heart racing. I found it was better when I laid on my left side.

The rapid heart rate is telling you to pace yourself. Is your RBC count low (anemia)?

Going into week 8 on Riba and Sovaldi. Haven't gone to the gym since starting tx as my heart races when I do mild exercising let alone the friggin gym. However, it still feels good to do moderate speed walking and light aerobic exercise as well as stretching. I also try to avoid crowded places where there are a lot of germs floating around. To me it's worth this uncomfortable feeling as long as hemoglobin doesn't drop too low - getting new blood work this coming week... Take care Kathy ;)

I think most of us got anemic from the riba, which causes the shortness of breath & rapid heartbeat. I couldn't walk across the floor w/out having to rest & catch my breath.
This isn't the time to push yourself. Listen to your body, slow down, rest when you need to. And drink lots of water.

I also experienced heart pounding and shortness of breath on Riba. It is an indication that you are anemic. It's a common known side effect of Riba.

In the past it was treated with Procrit, but the more current way is dose reduction. If you are on 1200 mgs it can likely be dropped to 100 or even 800 without affecting the efficacy of the tx. But that would all be up to your doc.

yep Ive been having shortness of breath and a feeling like I just cant breathe in deep enough ....Bloodwork just back RBC low and Potassium very low ..and apparently that affect the heart rythmn too Doc just put me on potassium and feramax iron + folic acid and B12 ...feel like im taking a whole pharmacy lol I still able to go to waterfit but am slowing down a bit

Here is a list of Ribavirin (alone) side effects.
In the past it has usually been bundled with Interferon and the list of sides was seldom broken out between the two drugs, usually together.
