quitting riba/inf

Anyone know if there are any problems with just quitting Riba/Inf ...tx failed Dr told me just to stop both needle and pills!! I'm on the 1200mg Riba and 1.8mq in 5ml needle pegylated Inf alpha 2a any problems with withdrawal for anyone ...anyone know at all ...doc said should be fine but just wanted to check as you guys have a lot more experience than the docs lol ..Also how long before it is out of the systemand i start to feel better and stronger ..I realise this is all very personal to each of us ..just some ideas thanks guys

Sorry your tx ifn/riba is not working. No you can just stop. You don't have to wean off.

It stinks that this tx didn't work. When my tx failed I just stopped the ifn/riba & had no adverse events. Keep drinking water to flush the meds from your system & that will help speed up recovery. I felt better pretty quickly after stopping tx but it takes time to get back to a "new normal" I hope you will be able to do retreatment with a Solvadi based med combo in the future. I was so hoping this standard of care would work for you & I know it's disappointing that it didn't get the job done. Hugs.

oh man, but really its better to get away from that stuff sooner rather than later if its not working for you. Hopefully you can get these mellower drugs and get all fixed up. Hope recovery from the inf. and Riba is swift.

Yes its sucks to go thru with no results ..but I am elegible for Solvaldi now ...I just have to wait till it is funded for 3's in Canada it will be the triple ..Inf/riba/solvaldi Doc says that is working up to 98% for relapsed 3's bit Only 12 weeks and it will be at least the fall by the time it is funded I suggested waiting for the inf free tx but I am stage 4 Cirrohsis and Im getting older he would rather I do the triple asap than wait possibly 18mnths or more for the one a day pill as hes not sure how long my body will keep at its ok level ....I will wait till Sept and have fun this summer feeling better and do some camping and stuff with the grandkids ... thanks
I will drink lots still seem to have the riba headache constantly but hoping it will ease off as the days go by ....You Guys keep on kicking that dragon ..I hope you are all undies by the end of TX you have been a great support I will stick around lol TTYL

No, there's no withdrawal. I went from feeling miserable to wonderful once it got out of my system in a couple of weeks. Better success with a new treatment.
