Hi guys.
Going to the Gastro Dr. Tuesday. I just got the results from the last ultrasound and my cirrhosis is progressing and now have an enlarged spleen. Have been drug and alch free for years, but failed S.O.C. Peg/rib last year. (April 2011)
No sign of cancer...yet...but don't know all the questions I should be asking the Gastro guy. Any help here would be appreciated.

Same boat here. You know I failed SOC, have cirrhosis but no cancer.
An enlarged spleen is pretty normal with cirrhosis. I have one too.
The question to ask is if your liver is still assessed as "compensated". Blood panel will show how your INR (blood clotting) is and bilirubin.
If all is still within acceptable ranges there's nothing to do but wait like I am for non Interferon treatments (next year I hope!)

Oh yes ask about "fatty liver" That you CAN so something abour by loosing belly weight.
Fatty liver is a whole other problem that can increase liver inflammation. I have to loose 15 lbs and am told it could make a big difference in liver stress

I have evolving stg 3/4 cirrhosis and am on triple. Did soc 09/10 & relapsed (mainly because I quit early I think). Why didn't they put you on 3x? I'm geno 1a.
how often are we supposed to get ultrasounds? I don't know when my last one was.
Close Dilly but not quite..Says g1.."OR"..g4..I'm g2b. Also not recruiting in Portland yet.

Peaceful, My doc says every six months on the ultra and since I'm diabetic I get my blood work done every three months so we just lump the liver panel in with the rest of the blood work.
So for now I'm just taking it day by day and we'll see what tomorrow brings.
