Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
I have a friend who is geno2, with early cirrhosis, and she is Treating with Riba and Sovaldi, and was NOT undetected, at her 4 week labs. Is there still hope for her obtaining SVR 12, if she goes Undetected by say...6 or 8 weeks?
I know, with the old Treatments, when a person went Undetected as an important factor in determining future SVR results, but not sure now, with Sovaldi and Riba, Sovaldi, Riba, and Inf, and then, the newest, Sovaldi and Olysio.
I am observing some relapses and viral break-throughs on these new regimes, as well, but also a lot of successes
