I am soooo frustrated. I was reading up more on tx and read that people with psoriasis should not do tx. When I went to my gastroenterologist (sp), I filled out pages and pages of paperwork and although I dont remember if psoriasis was one of the things they ask if you had, IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN. Now I need to call my regular MD on Monday to confirm that it is psoriasis that they diagnosed me with (I had really bad itching inside of my ears and put the prescribed cream on them once and it went away) and then call the Gastro MD to see if I can still have tx. Damn, I have everything set to go for next Friday, now all I can think about is what if I cant do tx. Does anyone know anything about this? Thanks

also wondering if the hep c could have caused the itching.

Hep c probably caused the itching. I have psoriasis and still did treament. I just finished 48 weeks, a month ago. Relax, You probably still do treament,barb

Well you should consult your physician for cure, however, you can discuss your issues on psoriasissocial.org. There you can find a lot of people who can help you regarding your problem.

I've had the worst itching for the last year, it moves all over my body, unbearable on elbows, back and neck. I saw 4 dermatologists, only thing that worked was a steroid shot, even had a biopsy of my rash, the last one decided that is probably caused by my hep c. Also he said that it will probably get worst on tx. He prescribed a steroid cream but I can't use often because is bad for liver.
So, I'm doing tx regardless, I don't have a choice. I start tx on Thursday. If it indeed is a consequence of the virus, hopefully it will clear up once I'm done with tx.

I've had psoriasis on my scalp for yrs, and I had the same concerns before starting tx. I had talked to one dr who made a big deal about it, and another who wasn't concerned at all. I'm now in my 46th wk of tx, and it did spread some but not anything too bad. In fact, it's almost been a non-issue.
The psoriasis on my scalp did get worse a few times but went back to "normal" (for me). I also have area on the back of my hand, elbows, and behind my ears that will flare up occasionally but nothing too bad... at least not as bad as the riba-rash that many people describe having. I have a steroid ointment and some otc medicated lotion that I use occasionally. Talk to your dr about it. It shouldn't be an issue...just something the dr may want to keep an eye on.
