Hey Serene. Being on treatment is like being at the bottom of a well and once you stop it takes quite a while to climb out.
It has been a full year for me since my last dose and I'm only now feeling my life force back (THANK GOD!!!!!).
Hang in there it will take your body a while to rebuild from the DNA/RNA up!

Does anyone remember these feelings after TX? Is it possible to cause stress on the body, after having lost 25lbs on TX, and I now can't get enough food. ANXIOUS, NERVOUS, doe this sound familiar???

It took me two and a half years to get totally back to myself. It took about three months to notice but it did happen. I kept saying I feel great . But I kept feeling better. It does take time, just get your rest anf it will happen.

hmmm your symptoms really do sound like a hromonal imbalance.
It your T4 is good maybe it is something else? Estrogen?
I hope your PCP can help.

pardon the pun,,but i felt like shit for 2mos post tx..i'm 3 now and picking up steam..choo choo.lol..i wasn't nauseated from riba,when taking them,but when i stopped my stomach started hurting..withdrawals i guess..just give u're self some time and everything will be ok..1 day at a time..take baby steps..god bless us every 1.............

Serene, I had similar sx right after tx...esp the anxiety. I've also found that as my energy increases, it's more like "nervous" energy. I think maybe because it's been so long...years, since I've had any king of energy, that it's foreign to me? My appetite goes up and down but has definitely increased. I lost 15 - 20 lbs during tx and have gained about 5 back. I would think the increased appetite would be normal considering the lack of appetite during tx. I'm a little more than 2 mos post-tx now, and while I feel alot better, I still have a long way to go to feeling "normal"...whatever that is.

I'm not clinically savy about which tests you might need but when I finished tx I had the restlessness, and anxiety, but not the other stuff. I do get the night sweats now but hell...it is getting warmer outside. Most of the symptoms have passed in the near 3 mo. I've been done. I do have the same problem with the eating though. My nutritionist said try grazing 4 or 5 meals a day. My problem is I lose the difference between "grazing" and "gorging" . I guess what I'm saying is that if it worries you see the Doc.

im with barb. 2-3 years to get back to physical and mental health. in fact the only depressive episode i ever had in my life came nearly 2 years after tx ended..

When I finished treatment I was super hungry too. I think maybe it's your body catching up. You will feel back to normal in no time. Just remember as long as you were on treatment it will probably take that long for your body to recover. Good luck!

I'm 6 and a half months post tx. I STILL feel like shit.... matter of fact, I feel worse then I did BEFORE I did tx. Im depressed, then manic, but only manic in my mind. I am TOTALLY exhausted, STILL cant clean house, cant comprehend how to read long post or a book, and I USE to be a book worm. I am so hungry ALL the time. My memory went to shit! Dont even like to leave my house! Now thats bad! I could go on and on, I pray you recover fast!!!!!!!!!

say karmah i know what u mean..i don't like leaving the house either,now thats bad..i was once a on the go person..i never liked being cooped up in a house..i guess it could be old age slipping up on us...lol

You know, feeling like shit (soft and warm) is not that bad, its the stink that gets to you!

Yeah, five or six weeks to go for me and I feel worse every week. Weak, sleepy (but cant sleep), hair falling out, anxious, rude, argumentative and lots of headaches. On a more positive note, I did finally get rid of the rash!
