Hepatitis C Support Group
Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
I have been having an incredibly strong craving for my home-made pesto sauce, so I googled it to see what health benefits it had. Well, besides having antibacterial properties, apparently it is also an anti-inflammatory, so here's the copy~pasta:
Anti-Inflammatory Effects
The eugenol component of basil's volatile oils has been the subject of extensive study, since this substance can block the activity of an enzyme in the body called cyclooxygenase (COX). Many non-steriodal over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDS), including aspirin and ibuprofen, as well as the commonly used medicine acetaminophen, work by inhibiting this same enzyme. (In the case of acetaminophen, this effect is somewhat controversial, and probably occurs to a much lesser degree than is the case with aspirin and ibuprofen). This enzyme-inhibiting effect of the eugenol in basil qualifies basil as an "anti-inflammatory" food that can provide important healing benefits along with symptomatic relief for individuals with inflammatory health problems like rheumatoid arthritis or inflammatory bowel conditions.
I usually have it about twice a week, and it also makes me feel so calm, with a relieved sense of well-being. And if you could see how hyper I am, you would know that this is a huge plus (for all around me)
If anyone is starting to get those Winter-time/Holidaze Blues and Blahs, I would suggest the dinner I prepared tonight: some fresh fish, pasta pesto and some green peas.
I had felt SO depressed upon first waking this morning, so I figured I would better cook, all home-made!

Pasta with a pesto sauce is really excellent like you said for inflammation!!! Wow, that reads like a really mouth-watering meal CassyKate!!! Do you mind me asking what kind of fish you had?
I got some fresh catfish and some "floor mat" (flounder) fillets just waiting to be thawed and cooked for me to enjoy!!! ;>) ;>) ;>)
I love green peas with bacon bits and/or some (if you're into vegan only)chopped onions and/or chopped roasted red peppers and maybe some shredded pecorino romano or parmesan cheese lightly smothered with extra virgin olive oil... Yummy!!! ;>)

2013 was a much better year than 2012 (tx year) hands down. It took me a while to piece my life together afterwards. You finish and your body, mind and soul are a wreck. Feeling largely normal and pulling my body back together, which got in the worst shape on tx. 2914 is going to be my year!!
