The police was on its way! Why did Zimmerman had to stop the man for? He was NOT an authority. If someone would stop you on the way home and ask you what do you doing here would you answer? Or say Fock Off?! You have no business to ask me for that! i would fell offended. He was still the instigator, and he is the one who created the situation.

I see this murder as a racist act.

I hated that this stupid case was all over the news daily and constantly on every channel. I didn't even want to tune in so I tuned out. I had more important things to do to say the least.

GZ is multi racial (white, black, hispanic).
FL is a gunslinger state, it is legal to carry a loaded weapon to Target. We may think thats crazy, but its legal here.

I even got a permit to carry it in to Target too, but i have never stopped anyone, and ask them where are they going, and what do they do in my neighborhood, because they look suspicious to me. And be honest i think if i pull the gun on you,and just pointed , you will stop punching me, no need to pull the trigger! Unless you have a death wish.

My community is not gated but we are restricted & have security volunteers. We neighbors all watch & it is posted, Neighborhood Watch Community. Thats a good, responsible community.

People toss the word racist around like candy. It's become such a crutch word for the misinformed. People hide behind this word to justify their own downfalls of life.

True yet we also live in a very racist world, which is one of humanity's greatest downfalls.

An old friend and long-time nurse once told me during her surgical rotation in training that their faculty surgeon underscored to their group during surgery that "We all look the same on the inside" when speaking of external differences. No argument there if you've ever seen someone cut wide open and displayed like that.

I respectfully disagree, Levicah. I believe the media did sway the outcome, painting a teenage who was visiting his father in the community and had gone to the store to buy Skittles and ice tea as a thug who deserved to be stalked and murdered. So he smoked pot! Shall we shoot everyone who does? (I'd miss Ernie). And wore a hoodie. So do my middle-class daughters. Of course it was about race. Does anyone really think Zimmerman would have reacted the same way to a while teen?

I tend to agree with reply #33. I think 'bigot' or 'prejudice' defines our society rather than 'racist', except for those who use the word to define themselves as a racist.

Re-the trial. I'm glad it's over and hope that all involved can put it behind them and go on with life. I can only imagine how difficult it was for both parties to constantly relive those moments, exp TM's family.

Well yes racism is only one of our downfalls and one of many isms and phobias that ail us. Yet we go forward. I say fuck it and be proud of whomever you are so long as it does not interfere with another's self-determination.
