OT Fireworks scare pets

It's a little selfish of the humans to make all this noise, scaring the animals and nature.
Or am I just being a Party-Pooper because my joints hurt too much to walk, and I cant breath well enough, to go see the Fire-Works? lol
This Triple Tx 4th of July really takes the cake.
I like being sober though, I was always a miserable drunk on the 4th, from adolescence until age 36 yrs..

I stayed in w/my puppy. She is scared to death of fire works. I saw them from my window.....rubbed her down w/a dryer sheet but it didn't help much. Took her out potty about 8:00 and people across the street were setting off their own noisy rockets. She ran like hell to get back into the building!!!!!

I really wish they would leave the firework displays for the professionals to do- my neighbors have no problem getting drunk and letting their children light them... Ugh.
I gave my 3 labs each a Bendaryl- it kind of helps to take the edge off so they aren't as scared. It helped them a lot, but they still piled up in the bedroom with Mommy and Daddy!!
When I got up this morning- I told my husband that I was tempted to drive around the neighborhood with my horn and stereo blaring, screaming, "Happy 5th of July, ya'll!!!" The fireworks didn't stop around here until midnight, and I have to be at work! LOL!!

Fireworks started here in my neighborhood (the slums) before the damn sun was down:(:( Poor kitties didn't know what to think.........this is their first real year of "celebration"..........last year they were just 3months old and pretty much indoor cats...................now they live outside.............LOL (their choice)

Took my dog for a drive to beach & fireworks (in distance). She is sick with terror but there is no escape. I would never leave her home alone on 07/04 or 12/31. They are all over neighborhood.
I'm all for people celebrating & having a good time.

My Chester didn't come home until 2 in the morning! We left to watch the fireworks, and came home to see the mess the neighbors made with their display.

I love the celebration, just wished they would clean up after the mess.
