Hi Rass, IFN was never touted with the high cure rates like the new daas but I discovered the percentages were always over rated & that makes me cautious about the data with the new meds. I'm optimistic & keeping an eye out to see how they work on harder to treat patients.

SOC with IFN for geno 1a had only a 50% cure rate. Turns out that was for all geno types & not specific to 1a so the actual cure rate was only 15-35%. When I did triple therapy the cure rate with IFN/riba/incivek was achieving better results & SVR rate of 70-80% was the drug co. claim but again it didn't factor in geno 1a null responders like me so the actual cure rate with those variables dropped to 35-50%. I've read data that states the cure rate is 93%with the new DAA combos & it is about 70-80% for null responders with patients who relapsed or are tx nave having the most success. Whatever the true percentage it's the best chance so far & it's great that it will be ifn & probably riba free this year.

To the new people.....this forum saved my sanity while I successfully treated my Hep C for 48 weeks. There are a few yo yos and a few instigators on here.......stay away from them or they will make you feel more toxic on TX than you are already. If that happens, find a different group......and fast! The same few peices of crap are still here I see. I just came to wish you all well and to warn you that if you are looking for love and peace.....be very careful.

Hey Fruitcakez good to hear you're doing well. Yay edibles. THC helped me immensely as well in keeping me sane on dual therapy. Glad it helps you too. It's helped many cope with tx here.

Me Tooo Debbie there are only a few that was here that was not about 5 or 6 months ago. Maybe that says that they are cured :-) I Sure hope so :-) May we all have peace and a wonderful life our ever we got as long to live :-) I Love you all u know :-)

Hi Peacefulsoul. I've been doing great! Over a year SVR. Have alot of memory issues and some joint pain since the 48 week tx, but my liver's good! Enjoying my horses and dogs and the great outdoors.

@gota, that's so good to hear. I'm svr about a year now too. Haven't had my one year bw, but will prbly go next week. My tumor marker test was high & I have to have that checked again.

I'm enjoying the great outdoors for the most part, when we're not in the artic zone temperature-wise.

As I recall, you're in Arizona? I think you got some of the Big Chill a few days ago too.

Remember our shot parties? I'm glad it was m fun back then, even tho I had my share of 'attackers' during treatment, as I'm sure you recall. People have to take the good with the bad I guess.

Yes, Arizona.......in the 70s today. Shot parties were a blast. They helped me alot when I wanted to give up, but knowing that there were others shooting too made it so much better.

I have memory issues, brain fog, & joint pain too. And my vision isn't so great either. I can live with it tho.

Could live with some 70 degree weather as well.
