Gilead filed for FDA approval in Feb and it's in clinical trial from what I can see. Please share what you have read!!!

Gilead's website drug pipeline shows this combo is still the the US and EU approval submission phase.

MAYO & SHANDS are university research centers. Drs in those settings are more likely to be able to prescribe thru houdini funds. If you live near a good hcv research center, go grab the ball!

I've been tempted to use SHANDS in Gainesville. Its a nice drive but about as far as was for me to Orlando. Trying to do regular appointments long distance on tx alone is not for the sane & rational. 125mi ea way to Orlando, a major research town, was no picnic with crashing hgb. Down right dangerous.

My friend took this combo in a clinical trial at New York Presbyterian Hospital She was in the 8 week arm of the study, had no side effects and SVR12. The problem is this tx is going to be even more expensive. And the big benefit management programs like Express Scripts have been making noises about refusing to pay it . for until Gilead lowers its price P.S. I know it got a fast track app but I thought it wasn't due til the end of the year?

I can't imagine that it would be more expensive, especially considering S&O is upwards of $150,000 for a course. If S&L combo is even slightly less, then that will work in Gilead's favor since Olysio is from another company. Not to mention they have to consider all the uproar over Sovaldi's price alone, and adjust accordingly.

Her best bet in her area is Shands, I'm sure she knows that. Surprising, Tampa Bay has doodley squat for clinical trials compared to Orlando & Gainesville.

I have a friend starting this month on 1 pill tx at shands jacksonville,fl. he will start next week sometime ... & yes both mayo & shands are in this area & these will be clinical trail is what I was told in person @ mayo & by my friend getting treated at shands ... warriorgal ... I don't know if this study will be posted or not ... I suspect there is alot of locals in line considering this tx

Yes DRT you are so right. Seems most of these trials fill up before announced, because the physicians involved have clients fighting to get in!
Thats been my prob in my area. Not as much research in Tampa as in Orlando, Gainesville/Shands, or Miami. Everything is filled before I can get my application started.
