It might break his heart to see you cry over his health issues. I know it would break mine.

Well Sweety this is a vary vary slow diese and actually it is a virous. But ya know what you are his wife. You should not be afraid to cry around him. Believe me an old man that it will only bring you closer together with him. You have to show whats in your soul and maybe in turn he will open up his fears to you and there you are. Closer than ever. :-) That is my opion anyways and is how I would be.

You're right dreamkite, that might be the best way to go. Every situation is different.

Don't despair. I'm sorry that your H has both of these chronic diseases on his plate but you fill find that there are many others with the same issues and they continue to do well.

We have had members here who have diabetes that have gone through treatment for Hep C. It can be done.

Do you know any specifics about his Hep C yet? Such as genotype? Whether he's going to have a liver biopsy?

i know you are scared i found out mu fiancee sick with hep c and diabetes...i hink ..well i know i worry more than he does... i have spent months worrying and not enjoying life.. we go to gi doc friday to find out what really is up.. he has ascited edema 5;9 weighs 212... was thin a year ago.. sleep trouble,, etc... there are awesome people on here who will help ya... i know how overwhelmed u feel and u can write m anytime,,, please take care of u... beth

There are many folks in the world who would jump at the chance to trade their problems for hcv and diabetes! This is not a hopeless predicament you know.

I just tested positive for Hept C and my husband has been a Diabetic Type 1 for 35 years. He is going to be tested next month for hept C. (we hung around the same crowd etc.)

Hept C is slow and you didn't mention which type of diabetic your husband was, how long and if he has good control of his sugars. All these things play a role.

Emotions are a good thing! (there is a river flowing somewhere over here in NC) It is apparent he has someone that cares for him very much and that really is one of the best medicines around!

Welcome, jfo!! We've had quite a few spouses join this Group for support and info. You're not alone!! Take hope, its not necessarily a death sentence. Many more people die w/ it than from it........... but its good to know if you have it so you can take better care and, when the time is right, get treatment.
