Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. That is wonderful. I hope it all works out for you. I spoke to my dr about it and he said it wasn't approved for me yet!!!!! I thought we were the same Geno type???? I'm 1. \which are you??

Bestshot I am at Toronto Western and yes they do treat geno 1 "OFF LABEL" using two drugs
1) Sovaldi from Gilead
2) Galexos (known as Olysio/Simprevir) from Jannsen
If you have private health insurance, check to see if you may be covered. ManuLife and SunLife do cover it.
Your Dr. must be talking about the approved treatment of IFN Riba and Sovaldi but a Dr can put you on any combination of drugs that work. Better start asking around. This all happened just two weeks ago.
