Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
Question.... would it really cost them that much more to give the 5% of geno 3's the new drugs too especially those with with cirrhosis ??????
Many of us have gone from having great insurance through our Employers to either being put on Medicare D, Medicaid, or cut backs, etc.
Life throws you curves.
In the long run, we ALL deserve the right to be treated!! My guess is they want to wait until it can be GENERIC and then if the people are still alive, then treat them.
Very sad society we live in.....Very messed up......Nothing makes sense.....
