How sad that a cure for so many people is here, yet so many are denied it's benefits.

While I love free enterprise, let's just chalk it up to one of the ills of Capitalism. I predicted that many Medicaid patients would be denied these costly meds.

The free market is NOT conducive to pairing sick people with appropriate healthcare.

Truly sad. :( and just plain wrong. This is infectious and progressive- I've never understood why anyone should be asked to wait- especially given the infectious aspect. The drugs are here- some of them came last year but even with insurance people have to wait and wait and push and push.

My heart goes out to all those who must wait for the drug companies to make their glut.

In my case, it turns out I got the Harvoni for 8 weeks because it was cheaper than the triple for 12 weeks. Treating many of those patients now would save them a lot of money later.

WELL, HELL.....that rules me out...... Hope my young son can put up with my symptoms even longer....cause I sure can't.

After ALL of my childhood and onto my adult life of having this and not having any symptoms until seven years ago. I can not stand feeling dizzy, foggy, slower wit, fatigued, and anxiety-ridden (though at least that has been fixed by medicine......yup. Medicaid ALLOWS that med....mmm hmmm....). SMH.

It's not abbiecee. Bernie Sanders, Independent, was just talking about that in interview -- advocating for the single payer system still with "Medicare for All." It remains a brilliant idea of course and he underscores the need to remove private insurance out of the healthcare industry altogether.

He also said the GOP was getting nervous due to the high volume of healthcare applicants in this second open enrollment period already, which started 2 days ago. Over a 100,000 this weekend yet the GOP threatens to scrap it still. Waste of time with an undoubted veto. One thing that will happen though is that 2016 will be a fascinating election for sure. California should be getting recreational medicine. Yay!!

Like thatwhich... stated, this is an INFECTIOUS disease - unlike cancer and many others that insurance seems to have no problem paying for tx for. I just don't get it. INFECTIOUS, CONTAGIOUS disease - and people are denied tx? What on God's earth is the reason for that?

I think honestly that the stigma that we all know about re. HCV is what's in the dark hearts of those in the ivory towers of insurance companies who hold the power to approve or disapprove these drugs for patients/victims, some of whom will die if they don't get the tx. I realize the insurance co.s got bombarded with Sovaldi requests - since almost a year ago - and yes, it's so expensive - but so is chemo! It is that "they" just don't want to put out so much all at once? Prolly. Too bad. Doesn't make it right. (I know you agree)

It's enough to make you start drinking so you can more quickly get cirrhosis, i.e. treatment.

Maybe the insurance company that denied me treatment, will advocate to the government for me !!! Or maybe the government will sue the insurance company.

I figure I won't even have to go to Oregon ....I can just start drinking...nahhh Dawter think we will just have to go with the flo...pay back is a b_____
