Just wondered if anyone had heard of using low dose naltrexone (LDN) for an alternative treatment for HCV? What have you heard?

Hi..yes its used quite often...Dr. Berkson uses it in his very successful protocol....I used it for over a year for PsA and hep helped both.. have not on it anymore. ON heptech..ldn won't cure the hep...but will keep your immune system in tiptop shape.. was advised not to use it while on the heptech. .the founder used it in the beginning and says he had better results sans ldn. Lots of info on line. Hope this helps.

It totally sounds worth checking out after reading all these horror stories about treatment.

You had a positive experience it sounds like. Did you try the conventional treatment?

I'm taking 4.0 mg of Naltrexone @ bedtime, for sluggish adrenals. Doc also knows of my HCV status. Looking forward to having labs done to see if ALT levels etc have lowered any..

Peeps - that is way cool that your doc prescribes this - is this your HCV doc? I'd like to try it and have done a bit of research --- but going to Berkson's clinic is a bit far for me -- and doubtful that any of my docs are "open minded" enough to prescribe it. Do please let us know what your next lab results are, pweeeze?

Most docs don't know about ldn or its many uses..most don't prescribe.....I used a doc in NYC..and hos compounding pharmacy..but got to be a hassle going down there ..so started just buying online...IM me if you would like to know more about it.

Thanks Gooser for takin this. I don't know much about how this stuff works, really. Im only taking it on the advice of the doc. Miss Cat, this doc is the wholistic wonder I found for my hypothyroid issues. I see her 8/2 for a follow up on thyroid. Gonna ask for labs for liver if possible. $$$ prohibitive possibly. Damn labs are too expensive. ( even w/ insurance . But I wanna see if its effected my liver in a good way.
I know I feel better and have more energy on this stuff. No sx's either.

When I was on ldn they took m ed off thyroid meds...the ldn fixed the thyroid problem.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
