I foundout myself just a little more than 2 weeks ago and it was a fluke how I found out. i went through it all....I'm dying, I'm screwed, I'm damaged goods, I'm a piece of shit (cause I'm quite sure I know how I got it) My quality of life is gone, let the parade of hospital visits start ( Good Will Hunting....Williams to Damon: When the staff knows, visiting hours don't apply to you) etc etc etc.
It's going to be fine and it isn't a bunch of phycho babal (sp?) bullshit either. IT"S GOING TO BE FINE!!!
There is a ton of people on here that will pick up where I left off and much much much more experience than I have.
HANG TOUGH and I know right now this may seem impossible, but enjoy the weekend!!!!! IT'S GOING TO BE OK!!!!

As difficult as it will be for your husband, please try to not let him get too upset til he:
a) gets a biopsy
b) gets facts about his condition from his doc
c) has time to adjust to the situation.
Calming teas may help or, if he needs the strong stuff, some Xanax may not go amiss.

Mr. Dumbass has really said it all, alot us of us are here for support!!! I just joined this site 3 days ago and haven't commented much but reading everyone posts is helping me tremendously, one thing I would add to Mr Dumbass's post is to get through all the testing first see where your husband stands. It might not be as bad as you guys think.

this is a pretty slow moving virus. a lot of us have had it for over 30 years and we're doing fantastic. read lots of old posts on here. you need information. check out books from the library...order books from amazon.

I freaked out when I found out I had hep like everyone did and xanax helped a lot. If he thinks he needs it talk to the doc about it.

Welcome, my story is, three years ago I found out when I gave blood, so I started seeing the doctors, got a job in a big box store, got health insurance after 900 hours, got up at 3am to be there at 4am, worked really hard for the last three years, acted like I didn't even have it really, but after, a sonagram, a biopsy, a vision test, vaccinated for hep a/b, today the pharmacy called and approved my meds, so it was a long road, but hopefully as for me, and for you guys too, things will work out for the best, god bless

Thanks for everyone's stories and hope. I really want to be able to support my husband and I know god worked thru this support group for me today. My husband made it to the gym after this long day so that's a good sign .
