Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
There are plenty of folks on here that will have a "Spring" back in your hubbies step in a day, no more than a couple.....I WILL ALMOST GUARANTEE IT!!!
I foundout myself just a little more than 2 weeks ago and it was a fluke how I found out. i went through it all....I'm dying, I'm screwed, I'm damaged goods, I'm a piece of shit (cause I'm quite sure I know how I got it) My quality of life is gone, let the parade of hospital visits start ( Good Will Hunting....Williams to Damon: When the staff knows, visiting hours don't apply to you) etc etc etc.
It's going to be fine and it isn't a bunch of phycho babal (sp?) bullshit either. IT"S GOING TO BE FINE!!!
There is a ton of people on here that will pick up where I left off and much much much more experience than I have.

b) gets facts about his condition from his doc
c) has time to adjust to the situation.
Calming teas may help or, if he needs the strong stuff, some Xanax may not go amiss.
this is a pretty slow moving virus. a lot of us have had it for over 30 years and we're doing fantastic. read lots of old posts on here. you need information. check out books from the library...order books from amazon.
