Hey gang. I've been very busy with working and biking and guitar lessons and harmonica practice and household stuff in the new house that I haventspoken to DS for a while. I responded well to 48 wks of tx but the dragon came back. Last check I was at 200 K. Doc gave up on me and said call the liver clinic at the Hosp. They haven't returned my call for a month. I'm still trying. Maybe I just need to walk in. Doc said they have new drugs. Also, I found out from our inventor at work at Medtronic that docs can order a drug infuser that automatically infuses interferon at the right levels for your body with better results than self injecting and less sides. We'll see if liver clinic ever calls. Hope y'all are hanging in.

So sorry to hear you relapsed after such a long ordeal.
I was pulled off as a non responder after the first few months.
I'm booked to start Telaprevir in Spring 2011. Still probably 48 weeks of Peg/Riba but the first few weeks will use this new drug as well.
Increases the non responders chances from 15% of the whole HCV group to 50% success.
I've not heard of this drug infuser. Interesting!

Wes..........sorry to hear about the relapse:( Lots of new things on the horizon and that drug infuser sounds interesting.

hi wes, sorry to hear the news about the virus reappearing.

the good news is there's a new protocol coming out soon tht has a higher rate of clearance AND less side effects!

Yes, this new TX will work for you! I am so sorry that the virus came back......how long were you post TX before it came back? You kicked it on TX.....but then it came back later? Do you mind to share? I am terrified it will come back.....but these new TX are VERY promising.

I only had one blood test 6 mo. post tx and it showed up pos. at 200,000. Go figure. My viral load was undie at 3-4 mo., too. Weird. I also have hep c neuropathy in my feet and Arthur in my knees and a little blue Disabled card for my truck. I'm still in good spirits though. Gotta go.

Learning as they go! These days Drs look for a 2 log vl drop by week 4 to 12 at the latest and undie by week 24 at the latest otherwise pull the patient off drugs.
Thankfully now we have new hope!

bummer wes. ive done a lot of relapsing too. very disappointing. wish you and all of us better results. i may do telepr. right away, i find out this coming tue.

Praying that all relapse-rs and non-responders all kill this dragon w/the new drugs!!!!!!!!!!
Infusion pump sounds very interesting and perhaps more precise!!!!!! Looking forward to hearing more news like that!!!
Perhaps you can find a doc that would be willing to try it w/u? That would be amazing! Praying the liver clinic calls you soon!
