Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
I am in week 16 of TX. My labs have been getting progressively worse since I started. Liver enzymes had gotten worse, WBC and RBC had dropped. I had to do supplemental labs two weeks ago, and regularly scheduled labs last week. I had my Dr. appointment today. I was prepared to hear that we were going to start other injections to boost blood counts. I have been feeling really bad lately...but
Dr. comes and says he hasn't seen labs this good in a patient doing treatment. I am still undetectable, Alt is 32, ASt is 25, WBC is 4.2, RBC is 4.83...everything is in the normal range!
It's been two decades since everything in my labs have been normal!
Sides are bad..but it's working!
