Hepatitis C Support Group
Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
Ok, first of all I am not aiming this post at anyone in particular, so don't take it personally. This is more of a general suggestion.
I come in here for advice and support for HEP C. Sometimes I need a mood change, and I'll go to the joke list, or listen to a song somebody posted, but that's about as far off topic as I want to get.
Don't get me wrong, I am VERY political minded and have strong ideas. I'm glad that others are too, and I encourage you to be passionate about your beliefs. Finding something to be passionate about just might help your recovery.
I just don't think this is the proper forum to express those beliefs. Let me give you an example. Let's say someone posts a rant about a particular candidate, and a newbie comes in who happens to be an avid supporter. It just might drive the newbie away.
The election is only a few weeks away, please find an appropriate place to be channel your political views. But in my humble opinion, Daily Strength is not such a place.

I have Riba Rage, and seem to want to pick a fight with anyone and everyone. I have an appt. on Monday to deal with it.
I do see the irony. I posted about not pissing off people, and that's pretty much what I did.

I do get your point but part of me feels people should be able to post whatever they want and those who don't like it should just not respond. The only posts I find truly objectionable or hateful, intolerant posts expressing homophobia, Islamophobia or other forms of racism and bigotry.
Sadly, in the U.S., healthcare IS political and healthcare is a MOST appropriate topic for an HCV forum so it's impossible to discuss healthcare without getting political - healthcare reform, the whole issue of being denied healthcare due to pre-exisitng conditions, etc. Well, just one girl's two cents...hope they give you something to take off the edge...
