But I have a serious problem and not sure if it's side effect related or not. If anyone has experienced anything like while on TX, please tell me.
Ok, I have had joint pain and weakness from the first few days. I figured that was part of sides and just deal with it. Last week I noticed I could not walk around the block without feeling like my ankles would snap in half and was sooo painful. Well, last night it felt like my whole hip rotated out of socket and I heard a "snap" or felt it... Not sure. It hurt but not unbearable. All I was doing was pivoting to turn around and walk. Last night I woke up in extreme pain and could barely sleep. Felt like really bad sciatica which I have had before in other leg from shingles and car accident/disc issues. I can usually power through it. This is my left hip, buttocks, leg and ankle/foot and always has issues with right side. This definitely nerve pain shooting. Extreme pain. Cannot get up or sit down on toilet without help!!! I can't take anything for pain. I feel like a 80 year old lady who needs a walker!!! I had hoped as day wore I could work it out but I can't even step up or down the back porch stoop without leading with the other leg can't bend over either. Could the RIBA be doing this to me??? Weakening my joints? What the hell is going on????

I know! Heh. Ibuprofen helped a lot! Still painful as hell fire, but took the edge off... Yay. Hopefully inflammation will ease up.

Don't be sorry. Glad you found out what it is. Valtrex can diminish shingles symptoms.

OMG beachymom I had shingles a few years ago and it was the WORST thing I've ever gone through in the pain department. My shoulder was in constant AGONY, my back was painful, nasty nasty stuff. Maybe your tx and stress waiting for meds took your immune system down just a peg and you got susceptible to shingles. I feel so BAD for you. It is awful, awful pain to go through. Yes contact your doctor with all your symptoms, get some pain relief and good medical care. The SX from Riba and interferon were Nothing for me compared to the shingles, and I didn't have to go through both at the same time. You poor girl! Get well soon!

I am still alive! Trying to manage pain as best I can with low does of Advil. My wonderful hubby is at this very moment installing a higher handicap height toilet (the things you never expect you may need!!) in our bathroom so that I am able to use it with some dignity and comfort! It's not as pretty and fancy as the trendy low one piece we had, but I don't care at this point. I have to give him a lot of credit fir such a major undertaking so that it will ease my pain. Anyway, we are both going to be old one day, so getting a jump on that retrofit! It those unexpected things that matter... Thanks for kind words everyone.
