If I understand what you are asking you are wanting to know if your children can get Hep C from drinking out of the same glass as you do? If this is the question the answer is NO. It is a blood to blood disease and is not transmitted by drinking after someone.
I would be careful that no one used my toothbrush or my finger nail clippers as there is small chance of transfer there.

I agree with goodoldgirl. I really don't think you can get it from drinking after someone. Tooth brushes and razors are another matter. I have probably been living with Hep C for over 28 years (formerly known as not A and not B). Neither of my children have it nor does my husband of 25 years. I can't explain it since I am very intimate with my husband and both of my son's births were normal delivery and.... I breastfed them. Perhaps there is a difference in transmitting or just being a carrier.
I guess until we know more...it is best to err on the side of caution.

I was like that at frist , My wife and 3 sons where tested and No Hep C and I have been carring this crap for who knows how long.

Had Hep C for 27 years and didn't know it
. Been with my for 19 years raised three step children,
my daughter,adopted son, and grandson
no one got Hep C
it's blood to blood
so with out a doubt no they can't get it from drinking
after you
you would have to spit blood in the drink and make sure
they have and open bleeding swore in their mouth

Honey, you can NOT get it that way. My doctor said that the only way we could get this from my daughter was POSSIBLY (that is even a small chance) if we used her razors or even a smaller risk if we used her toothbrush and she had bleeding gums and we had bleeding gums. The risk for that is astronomically small. Now I wouldn't share your personal care items like toothbrushes or razors but other than that your fine. You can kiss your babies and use the same utensils and share the same food.... I know you want to protect your babies but if it were that easy to catch many, many more would have it.

My obsession is with my razors, toothbrush, clippers, any personal grooming items that come in contact with blood. You don't need your own utensils or glasses and the kids should be fine.

Hey I know these post are from a couple of years ago. But I have this guy in my church that has hep c. I had an incident that occurred. At the time it happened he didn’t know he had hep c and neither did I or anyone else. So he hadn’t started treatment. He had a history of drug use. That is how he got it. Anyway he came in with a bottle of water with flavoring in it, and wanted me to try it. I’m not the type of person to drink after someone I don’t know. I wasn’t feeling good that morning either, but I can’t remember if I took a sip. If I did, is there any chance that I could be infected. I sometimes get canker sores in my mouth. I’ve always had canker sores. I’m getting told two different things.

There is a slight chance, through mucous membrane, where tissue is soft & easily torn. If he had bleeding gums or such, and your skin integrity was also impaired, there is a minute possibility of blood to blood transfer. So many other factors - your immunity status & other health conditions that could make you easily susceptible.
Not likely it happened, but:
If worried, be tested.

Well as far as I know. He doesn’t have bleeding Gums or anything like that. It just terrifies me really. I’ve been told though that it can’t be transmitted through bottled water.
