Hepatitis C Support Group
Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
But one day, I met a guy, who had a syringe ull of meth, and said that was the only stuff he had. He swore up and down, that the syringe was brand new, and I stupidly took his word on it.
Even if his syringe had been brand-new, he could have contaminated the drugs in it, with water from a cup, where he drew up water with a used syringe. Or the cotton he sucked the drugs up with, may have come into contact with one of his used syringes, or the spoon that he used, for the cotton and the drugs and the syringe. Hep C lives for up to 4 days.
Before 1992, people got Hep C from blood transfusions. But to be perfectly honest, all the people I know, who have Hep C, got it from needles. It's the easiest way.
Since I havent used in over 13 yrs, I dont associate myself with the Stigma thing.
