My Dr told me after I asked him to do a random HIV test when I was trying to straiten out my life. He through in the HCV test on his own just in case. Boom, then I get a phone call saying he has good news and bad news. that was the longest bus ride I have ever taken.

I went to the emergency room with severe abdominal pain which I had been suffering for about two years. my gut was quite bloated and a cup of tea and a cracker felt like a nine course meal in me before I finally went. I know I was stupid to wait so long to go to hospital. I waited until I felt as if I were dying. I had pancreatitis. they looked for the reason that I got the pancreatitis. I drank alot of booze and was a very large man so my gut looked ok to them. Any way one morning as I laid in the hospital bed with iv and dilaudid some lousy crap doctor came in and just said " you have hep c" and looked at me like I was the guy who picked on him in school. then he walked out. Dilaudid is good.

I was asymptomatic for 40 years and burned many candles at both ends until I hit my mid 50's....then an avalanche of symptoms appeared.

I went for a physical, suspecting diabetes, and was diagnosed with excellent health AND HCV....c'est la vie...hahaha!

I actually found out by donating blood. I got a letter in the mail sayin they could not except my blood due to findin hep c antibody. I had no ideal what to do! Was scared to death. I didnt know much about hep c, so I automatically though I had a death sentence and was goin to die soon. A few weeks later.... I went to a Doc and it was confirmed I was positive for chronic hep c. What a mental trip it was to hear the news

I discovered I had HCV through a yearly blood test a couple years ago. I've had it for over 40 years with no symptoms that I know of. Of course once I'm done treatment I hope to be an extremely calm, rational person with excessive energy. Yeah, that will happen.

I found out through a blood donation too. I'll never forget that day...my son's 17th birthday, which made for a very difficult dinner. It was hard to keep the smile plastered on my face and at the end of the night I cried myself to sleep. It didn't help that I was in the middle of a divorce. 'Twas a very dark period of my life.

It was about 77 and ny needle was to dull so I used someone elses and she begged me not to use it but of course Ididnt listen The day after had what felt like a flu that lased 6 months and I was on the streets selling plasma and they said they couldnt take it anymore and I needed to see a doctor. Quit mainlining in 82 ans was dianosed in 84 but of course it was way to late. Plux I have mental issues so they both added up to no TX. So I justn do the best I can. last episode I woke up and everybody was talking backwards I mean not gerbeise I could tell the simple words like a and the and so long by the timer ambiulance got me to the hospital I was in a 3 day coma in which I can remember everything which adds to my mental state as you can imagine.

Just for the record I dont get mean crazy its more like stepping out of reality into another dimension like kindof. Its really impossible to describe. But thats the closest I can come without blowing everybodys mind that reads this.

One thing I can tell you is owe souls DO go on and live just out of this body. Hell has not beenn creded yet it will come into existest after the great judgement. I went to the gulf as they call it with no body.

And there has been a first earth age yes weve all lived before and made the choice between God or thre devil This is the last earth age that we will be tested DONT screw it up please. I want to meet everyboby here. :-) LOve yall :-)

I was pregnant with my second daughter in 1998 and I had itchy skin with a rash. The NP had me worked up for hepatitis A-C. I had no other symptoms. Thank god for this NP, otherwise I don't know when I would have found out. All my labs have always been normal, just alot of fatigue but I contributed that to the fact that I work nights.

was on vacation, got very sick, tired, flu like symptoms, went to the doctor he found my alt and ast very high, every week, I got sicker, and the liver enzymes got higher, went to 1,300. He told me I had hep C, went into denial for over a year, then came on here and finally felt like I was not the only one .

These are amazing stories, I also found out via blood donation, and was surprised, which is kinda funny since i have lots of tattoos and partook in other "risky" things (though Im 99.999% sure I never shared any of the necessary "tools" needed for such activities)

Thanks for sharing all of this, It seems that only a few people had really bad symptoms ugh Joe, Im sorry you had to go through that but Im glad your in a better place now.

Yeah, yeah I know, kinda hard to trust even yourself on that note. but to the best of my memory :) Pretty much doesn't even matter at this point though it would give me a better idea of how long you know?!
