Hepatitis C Support Group
Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
Many have tried treatment, more than once. Many can not do the treatment, for various reasons. Some choose to change their lifestyle and try to live better with hcv.

I think the most important thing you can do for your liver, whether you have Hep C or not, is eat right.
Dr Bernard Jensen says that no therapy will work without diet as the foundation.
"By now, people recognize that foods have effects on the body, and there is more to diet than just putting together a conglomeration of edible substances. Poor foods can have undesirable side effects just like drugs. Good foods, balanced and in the right proportion, assist the body in healing itself and in moving us onward and upward to high-level well-being. To truly enjoy life, we must have all of the elements which are so necessary in order to have a full grown, beautiful, lovely body.
"We recognize that there is the spiritual, mental, ethical, moral side to the eating programs, but we cannot be well with a prayer in one hand and a hotdog and a Coke in the other."
So even for those who decide to do treatment with Interferon, eating right will assist in the success of that program, as well as in recovering from the war it wages on the virus and the body. And for those who choose to live in harmony with the virus, diet is also the foundation of health.
"Our bodies are made of the dust of the earth, so we must live close to the earth, the vegetables, fruits, nuts, berries, flowers and herbs that transform the chemicals of the earth into living biochemicals, fit for our use. We cannot go amiss in seeking out the values in this direction. We can pray, and we will pray amiss, unless we realize that we must follow the natural path of living to experience the level of health and vitality we are made for."
