Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
Here I found someone who wrote a petition trying to get Hep-c listed as a disability. This one is also on change.org and again it can be signed anonymously if you prefer to sign it that way.

I think everyone needs to look at it and read it and see the good this person is trying to create and the help he is trying to get for people like us with this god forsaken virus. Let's all do the right thing and all take part in changing the way hepatitis is looked at.

Totally Agree!!! Thanks for the input Chris. If I try to get Disability I have to prove that I cannot walk, talk or think with this disease. Sometimes it feels like I am living at only 40% capacity, but I cannot prove it enough to get the $400.00 per month they would pay me after I quit my job... and how does anyone live on that?

It is truly hard to deal with everything the virus has to throw at you that is why I think it should be recognized as a disability. It can be very hard to live with and during treatment could be especially rough on a person.

I very much agree Chris. I have to say (I don't know why I HAVE to, but I do) that there are a bunch of typos and missing punctuation and stuff on the wording of the petition..I swear I'm not anal retentive, I'm just a writer and I notice those things... :)

I was able to get social security disability while on treatment in 2001. However it tokk 8 months to receive my first payment and while I was way to sick to go to work I had lots od credit cards to live on untill I got my first installment of gov. aid. Well it was 800 a month and since I had a minor child I got an extra 200. By the time I got off treatment (that did not work) I had managed 32,000 in credit card debt, and had lost my good paying job. To make a long story short, if you count on the Gov. and you have worked in your life....your in trouble. I ended up in bankrupt court after realizing it would take 47 yrs to get paid up.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper?
