Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. I know, if this works it will be so worth it, BUT I feel like crap. Headache most of the day, fatigue, sluggish brain. I didn't expect this. Some people posted about having more energy. I guess every body is different.
I took SOV/Riba and I could NOT STOP EATING....My Hepatologist told me I was the ONLY patient with that symptom.
All I can think of is either I was feeling better inside and my body wanted the nutrients OR it was an emotional thing for me. I really was hungry all the time and really enjoying my food.....
Now being 6 months after treatment, my ViTAMIN D levels are very low, so I must supplement with a prescription.....I think the body acts certain ways for a reason.
ALSO: My sister stopped getting her period when she was way gone on drugs and also had the hepatitis....I think it messes with the cycle, so that might be your cause??
Hang in there, you will beat this!! Good luck and water helped me with a LOT of my side effects, plain water - 6 bottles a day!!
I guess you could say Harvoni kills it indirectly. Kind of like when a seed doesn't get enough water and it dies.

As you can see in this video, the virus is no longer a viroid capsule when it goes to reproduce. It's a bunch of parts and some RNA or DNA strands.
It's kind of like the butterfly. Once the caterpillar goes into a cocoon there is no turning back. If something keeps it from becoming a butterfly it will die a cocoon. Even if what stopped it didn't directly kill it, it would die. Like, if it got stuck under a rock. I know, dumb analogy, but best I can do on short notice.
what I was trying to impart is that no toxins are being released into your body, just an enzyme that stops viral relication. It's very specific. Have you read the story about the creator of sofosbuvir?

I think these drugs (probably the Riba more than the Harvoni) have screwed up my anti-depressants but I don't want to make any med changes because I am so close to finishing tx. Only have to hang in a couple more weeks and will re-evaluate a week after finishing. In the meantime, I hope this eating thing doesn't get much more out of control !!
And what occurred to me as a possibility is that maybe as the swollen liver goes back to normal, it leaves space that wasn't there before. Maybe the feeling of that space makes us feel hungry.
I'm trying to stay away from fattening foods, but it's so hard. I've gained about 10 pounds in 7 weeks. Once I start eating I can't stop, it's like an obsession. The other night we ate at an organic vegan restaurant, went to an event, then came home and had hot chocolate, chocolate cookies and chocolate covered almonds.
Bliss food. LOL at least the hot chocolate and cookies were homemade. :-)
