Hepatitis C Support Group
Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
My hepatologist thinks it's ok to drink in moderation, an art I haven't yet perfected :-
Frankly I think eating junk food and consuming lots of sugar on a regular basis is a lot worse for you...but that's just one girl's opinion.

I would chug the first two beers, and immediately open the third. All the while calculating that I did not have enough on hand, causing an emergency run to buy a case.
Midway through the second six pack I would probably throw up, then decide what I needed was hookers and coke. Of course on the way out the door I would gather up whatever I had that would fit through the little window out in front of the 24 hour pawn shop.
Three beers my ass!
And yes, I'm trying to be funny and sarcastic, but that really is how I drank and what happened afterwards.
I can relate - to a point - never puked then got coked up (or ever thought of hookers - I'd just grab any guy at the bar who was willing) - but the concept of drinking three beers was impossible for me to process. I drank beer (my fave "buzz bev") - but after blacking out I'd drink anything (so I'm told, and as was evidenced by empty bottles of various cheap hard alcohol in my vicinity when and wherever I "came to" - many hours later).
SOBER TOTALLY TWENTY-FIVE YEARS COME THANKSGIVING - otherwise, I'd be looonggg gone. "One drink is too many and a thousand's not enough." Gee, it seems like we heppers sorta have kinda addictive personalities. Ya think?
Clay, self-forgiveness is a very admirable ability to have. I haven't done enough of it - and need to clear my karma - seriously.
I don't think a few occasional beers would harm anyone unless they have cirrhosis or other serious liver problems. But it's definitely a conversation you should have with your doctor.
Not sure which is worse, alcoholism or nicotineism
One way to help is to count out a certain # of cigarettes for the day & time yourself to only have that allotment. I think I started w/about 9 or 10. After a couple of days, cut the # down by two cigarettes. Finally get to one or two & you'll be surprised how long you'll wait to have that last one. Do the one or two for a few days, then realize you can do it and Quit.
Stopping cigarettes is one of the hardest things to do but one of the best things you can do for your health. It affects so many things in our body.
Just keep trying, and cutting down.
Best of luck.
peacefull
I hear it is more addictive than coke.
