i don't know about this 1....but i did an abbott trial w/polymease and protease inhibitors......i'm svr......all the way........after 2 interferon failures..for geno 1a...........they should work for geno 2 and 3's too.......good luck and god bless

I know about it! I am starting a trial phase III, 7977 with the 5885, a NSA5 which is phase II. This was to replace the one that BMS had and Kat did that trial. 200 folks this go around in Oct. and they are going to do 600 in March. Gilead bought this drug from Pharmassett in 2011 for billions of $ --11? maybe. It now has a name and it is projected to hit the market in 2014. It is now called Sofosbuvir.

I start on Tuesday. There are 4 arms, 12/24 with or without riba. I'll keep my labs and progress posted. I have had my eye 7977. I wanted this drug ever since I was DX. The trial I am in is for genetype 1s. I thought they had already started one for 2s and 3s but not sure.

i just checked clinicaltrails.gov and it says Renee's trial is for tx naive.

There was a trial called 'electron' with GS-7977 (now sofosbuvir) and Ribavirin for TX- experienced which had 80% SVR4. I'm not sure if they were relapsers or null-repsonders. I don't know if there are results past 4 wks post.

Graduate here of the GS-7977. 12 weeks with interferon and ribaviron. Clear of HCV. 12 weeks is doable! Still not a walk in the park, but seemed a lot easier than what some have shared about tx. If I had to do it all over again, I would. I'd hate it but I would do it!

Thanks for all the replys. i should have googled it never even thought too. It sounds like some good dope. Doc says it is my only option right now unless i want to do 48 weeks of standard shit it didn't work the first time so i'll wait. last tx was 1 1/2 years ago just now feeling normal. blood work is about normal oh well peace.
