I was here in 2010/11 and it was a very busy place. Lots going on at the time. There were many people and the treatments were long and difficult. Now treatments are so short and there are only I am guessing 10 or 20 people who participate actively. Apparently there are a lot more reading the posts but for some reason they are not commenting.

Hi Kath yes, been MIA busy after a long distance move. Don't know where my lab values are at, takes forever to get initial visit with pcp, then referral. It'll get done. Here since 2008.
I doubt many will linger here anymore because the treatments are swift & effective so most will disappear when they are done, not like us who did repeat treatments that didn't work. How are you?

i watch tombstone when ever it comes on. just finishing first bottle of harvoni, I get my lab results wed, happy to see some old timers here and so sorry for what every one went thru with the old tx, thought I would probably die waiting for the new ones. Thank God I didn't, my liver sure took a beating though, thanks for the responses.

Hello guys I'm still around I am 11 months svr but still dealing with the cirrhosis stage 4.. I have my good days then there are the bad days. but I have hope that in time I will continue to get stronger.. we will see...

I am still hanging in here, for a couple of years now I did do the old Inf/riba ..it was terrible ..but didnt work ..
STILL waiting to start my sov/riba ..Government promised I would hear by Wednesday this week .. I'll believe that when I hear it ..Lol
All the oldies went off ..I said I would hit the lights out when we were all cured... but I haven't got there yet

I came her in February 2013. At that time treatment was still interferon, RIBA, and one other drug I can't remember the name of. Everyone was holding out waiting to see what new miracle drug would be the first on the market. There were a lot of people here hoping and praying who had lived with the dragon for 20++ years.
Nowadays with these new drugs, the diagnosis is not as scary as it once was. I just saw a news report that acetaminophen bis surpassing Hep C for liver damage. Hmmmm

Add me to the list of old timers that rarely comes in here any more. When I started triple therapy with Interferon, Riba and Incivek in 2012; the treatment was so brutal that we had to have a support group just to get through the day.

The treatments and cure rate are so much better now, but folks still need help fighting the insurance companies and red tape to get approved.

Stay strong everyone, and KILL this damn virus.

Yes and interferon just fucked with your mind so much that we had nowhere else to go, nobody else to talk to and nobody that could relate. I felt like I was coming down off of hard drugs the entire 8 months of tx. It was depressing and a miserable existence with myriad other physical side effects. Now the drugs are so easy and everything is as many of us predicted it would be like. Soon it will be like treating an STD. The regimens still need to be shorter though like 2 weeks.

Anyway I'm rarely here either. Just come on mostly when experiencing insomnia anymore. This place puts me right to sleep. G'night. ;-)

wow, like O times just seeing the progress and how things have changed....you are right clay , there is no "scare" to it anymore...people find out they have it...people find out how to get rid of it and go on in life ...ahhhhh a fairy tale for us that waited and waited for ?????? death, a cure, relief, hope, a sign, someone to care....it has all changed and we were the pioneers of it...
@JanS...I keep praying and checking in and getting mad..but so glad for the update and to hear that your strength continues in Him and faith WOW you are going to have a story to tell of His love...Go Girl...I am lifting you up....amazing I tell all my friends about you...
