Thanks for the clarification about Geno 3 Yes Sofosbuvir and GS-5816 is indicated for ALL genotypes

Gilead Sciences Sovaldi (sofosbuvir) and GS-5816 cured about 95 percent of treatment-naive people with genotypes 1 through 6 of hepatitis C virus (HCV) who did not have cirrhosis in a recent trial. Aside from achieving excellent pan-genotypic results, the combination is also notable for successfully sidestepping the use of ribavirin. Results from the randomized Phase II GS-US-342-0102 study were presented at the 49th annual meeting of the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL) in London.

Hmmm - well, I'm glad to know 5816 (with Sovosbuvir) is for all genotypes, but .... why does that trial Kramer posted exclude geno 3's? No idea.

I got into this more on the Sova/Led thread - did some googling. Seems Geno 3's did not respond as well as hoped for in the Phase 2 trials - so seems Gilead is not pursuing this option for Geno 3's - their Phase 3 trials exclude 3's.

BUT Merck is kicking up some sand for the 3's - I just saw this somewhere - trial for 1's and 3's. Sofosbuvir + Merck drugs. (Gilead is doing VERY well with Sofos, eh? hehe)
