Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.

Sandy, that is so sad to read. I really hope they reconsider and get her vaccinated.

Our household had flu shots in Oct. We spent yesterday morning in the Dr's office for my mom's annual visit, and hoping we stay flu free.

Get your flu shots!

I got my flu shot today but didn't get a sucker :^(
My GP was smiling big time when I gave him a copy of the Sofosbuvir press release of this week.
He knows I and other patients of his are at the 11th hour and shared the joy of perhaps not having to say goodbye so soon any more.
It's been a good week!

My sister and close friend both got the flu recently. It's a bad one. My sister forgot to get the flu shot this last time and she said she felt like she was dying. Damn sounds like an HCV PI. My friend did get it though so go figure. It's never 100%.

They said 30% will still get the flu even with the flu shot.But not full force.Glad you had a good week Kramer.

Oh my, am I the only human being on here that is egg sensitive?... I will stay away from crowds for the next 12 weeks, yeah right!

Never got a flu shot until last year when I started the TX. Also got the Pneumenia shot at the recommendation of my GI MD. Just got another (flu) one for this year. So far, so good. Lets all hope and pray that this bad boy gets out here real soon.

Glad to see this link and all of you who have gotten the shot......I just don't know about me getting one. I've never had one, and my immune system is still not working properly, or wasn't 60 days ago when it was tested. I'll have to ask my doc about it. In the past he has said no shot for me.

On another note.....those of us who are on or who have just finished tx....would we even realize that we had the flu? I know I felt like I had the worst flu bug of my life for 5 months straight!!!! So I figure I probably wouldn't even realize it if I did get it.
