Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.

I work with a girl who had to stay home today because her teenage son who had the flu shot, now has the flu.

I got the shot. It doesn't prevent acquiring the flu, we're hoping it weakens the virus.
I'm glad I got the shot.

I usually don't but as this years flu is especially nasty and as Interferon has left me weakened I am getting it this year ..Thursday!

My dr suggested I get the shot before tx & I did. So far I haven't even had a cold - thank God. Of course I don't go near anyone if I can help it, wear gloves if I have to shake hands, and/or wash my hands immediately, don't breathe when people walk by me - especially if they sniff or make any phlemy, coughy noises, basically all but wear a bubble suit! something's working.

i got a flu shot this year, too...and haven't in MANY years. one of my docs said not to and the other was VERY much in favor.

I just can't take the LIVE one.

I've received the flu shot for the last 17 years without any problems, including while on SOC tx. Never had a problem and never had the flu. I work in a hospital and most of my colleagues get it too as they strongly recommend it -- more so now. I know a fractional percentage that have ever had a problem with it. Most will not notice anything.

I haven't gotten one in several years, but with the anemia, I'm rethinking it. I'll ask my trial team on Friday about it.

I'm more worried about my granddaughter...she's in daycare part time, and her parents have decided on no immunizations of any kind.

Just came back from doctors and recieved my flu shot.They said they had sick people in the room all day.I asked for a face mask and gloves, and wore it the whole time I was in the room.

I get mine tomorrow Mike. Keep on your guard with precautions as the flu shot takes about two weeks to confer immunity. They say this year the Labs got it right for this strain :^)

I wish I had been in the waiting room with you Mike, I would have worn the mask & gloves too. Plus the paper boots, and maybe a paper hat if they had them.

Its kinda of crazy.Your going to a place to not get sick and they put you in a room where people were coming in with the flu all day sick.

I have the flu so bad right now and I am so very ill.
My grand-chilldren had it, my daughter me and my husband.
The hospitals here are over flowing with it. I am going to see my Dr in the Am. It has been over a week, The only good thing is I have been so sick I quit smoking!
but I can say this much. I have not been this sick from a flu in years,
